There are lots of cinemas near Ewha, so it is very hard to decide which one to go to. To save you time and help you decide which to choose, we went out to review three of the most popular cinemas to report on their unique benefits.

1. Arthouse Momo

Arthouse Momo is very close to us! It is in ECC B4, so you don’t have to walk far. When you have been studying hard and feel very tired, just go to the ECC and watch a movie for relief!

Founded by KB Kuk-min bank, it mainly shows independent films, and also shows some industrial movies and previews. If you like art movies, Arthouse Momo is the best place for your taste!

Arthouse Momo has two rooms and each has 144 seats. It is small compared with other theaters, and the stairs are very steep. Be careful when you climb stairs( : D). One benefit of this cinema is that you can enjoy tranquil air instead of the bustle, and commercial atmosphere of major cinemas.

The ticket price in Arthouse Momo is 9000won (similar to other cinemas), and sometimes when it gives a preview, it’s free…! It doesn’t sell any snack like popcorn or coke. So, if you want to eat something, you can go to restaurants near there. Also, l will give you a tip for the discount. If you show your Ewha student ID card, you can get 1000won off. 2. Sinchon Megabox

  

If you walk 5 minutes from Ewha’s front gate, you can see Sinchon Megabox located on the 5^th floor of M Migliore.

The best point of Megabox is that there are some easy ways to get discounts. Sometimes Sinchon Megabox gives special tickets after screening that allow people to watch movies for 6000won every day, every time. These tickets are randomly given, so wish for good luck! Moreover, every students of Ewha can get 2000won discount if they show their student ID cards. This advantage is also applied for students from Yonsei, Hongik and Sugang. So, choose Sinchon Megabox when you go to see movie with those university students.

Sinchon Megabox has 8 rooms, and it is famous for M Room. M Room has a bigger screen than the normal 2D screen, but the ticket cost is the same as it is for normal 2D movies. It is well matched with big blockbuster fantasy movies like The Hobbit.

Sinchon Megabox sells various snacks. It sells chicken, sausage, hotdog, churros, squid, and normal snacks like coke and popcorn. So it will be good cinema for hungry students who want to see blockbuster movies with cheap tickets.

3. CGV Sinchon

CGV Sinchon branch takes 15 minutes on foot from Ewha. 

One of the most attractive features of CGV is its 4DX room. The 3D visual effect and physical movement is combined and the audiences can feel like they are in the movie.

 Another interesting feature is diversity of snacks and beverages. Compared to other cinemas, CGV has unique popcorn brand named ‘popcorn factory’. People can enjoy various flavor of popcorns. For example, original, caramel, mango, cheddar/cheese, buldak, hot curry, onion, banana, bacon tastes are available. Also, there is Tom N Toms coffee shop on the 2nd floor and it is easy to enjoy diverse beverages.

 On Monday to Thursday, the cost of ticket is 8,000 won, but we need to give 1,000 won more in prime time. On Friday to Sunday, cost of ticket is 10,000 won including the prime time. Also, watching movie early in the morning costs only 6,000 won every day.
